The 2012 FSU-UF game is what I worry about with the 2023 Noles.
Much like this year's team, Mark Stoops was married to the 4-2-5.
UF lined up in multiple TE, heavy formations and just ran and ran and ran and Stoops wouldn't come out of the nickel. They ran for, I believe, well over 200 yards and combined with turnover, we lost to an inferior team.
Duke was trying a variation on the same thing (although they did more isolating of our light box with spread formations).
I'm not sure if UF or UM can successfully pull off that strategy (although I fear they will try), but Michigan, Georgia, et al sure can.
Any road to a national title has to include some heavier defensive personnel groupings, imo. Either a 5-2 or 4-3 or a real committment to crowding the box with one of the 5Dbs.
