Rocky IV was about Rocky fighting a Soviet sack of steroids for the heavyweight boxing championship and to end the Cold War.
Ivan Drago was a physically imposing giant of a man who destroyed his opponents and killed Apollo Creed. I'm pretty sure he also moussed his hair, but that's for another post.
Rocky decided his regular training regimen was not going to suffice for his preparations for this fight. This fight was potentially a life or death moment for him.
So he went to Siberia to train. He chopped a bunch of wood and pulled wagons. He also grew a beard. All of this apparently got him real swole.
So Rocky shows up in Moscow for the fight. It's basically America against Dwayne Schintzius. The Russian gets in a few good shots before Rocky lands a solid shot that hurts Drago. His Manager, not Mickey (died Rocky III) or Apollo (died Rocky IV), Duke (died in real life) yells encouragingly to Rocky "He's not a machine!" And so, because there's a God in Heaven, America won. Thanks Rocky!! Also he brought down the Iron Curtain, the Berlin Wall, and the Politburo.
All this is to say that just because Bama wears red, doesn't mean we have to be Rocky. We don't have to do anything other than play our best game, and we should have every opportunity to win this thing.

Let's look at Bama vs common opponents:
They gave up over 500 yards to Ole Miss. We gave up 380. We also had more yards of offense against Ole Miss than Bama.
Against uf we had more yards than Bama did in the SECCG and allowed fewer yards than Bama did.
Against Clemson, we gave up the same number of yards as Bama did. We had almost 100 more yards of offense.
Not saying we're guaranteed a victory, but against common opponents, we fared at least as well or better.
Also in each of those three games Jeremy Pruitt's defense gave up as many or more yards than ours did.
They held Clemson to three fewer points than we did, but we held uf and Ole Miss to fewer points than Bama did.
They aren't Ivan Drago. They're not machines.
