So a lot of folks have said we may have to wait until the end of the GOR (2036) or close before announcing our exit from the ACC. I am of the belief that as soon as ND announces it is not joining the ACC full time in football, FSU has everything it needs to fight the GOR and leave for greener pastures. So with that in mind, when do you think our departure from the ACC is announced?
In the past two summers, there have been blockbuster announcements that Texas and Oklahoma are leaving for the SEC (2021) and USC and UCLA are leaving for the B1G (2022). I fully expect all of the necessary conversations to be had in the next year for all parties… ND negotiates either a new independent deal with NBC or that it is joining the B1G. If that happens before next summer, it wouldn’t surprise me for FSU and possibly Clemson announce they are leaving for the SEC next summer. What does everyone think our timeline looks like?
