After Saturday's game, I honestly felt there was very little chance that James Blackman would start this weekend. With the huge hit he took, the stellar play of Alex Hornibrook and the diagnosis of MCL sprain, it all pointed to Hornibrook being behind center vs. N.C. State.
Despite all of that, I've been told be a reliable source that there's a good chance Blackman will start Saturday. He took a good portion of the first-team reps on Thursday and is really pushing to start and is sounds like Willie Taggart is leaning that way. If this comes to pass, it's a crazy turnaround and a somewhat surprising given all the circumstances.
Keep in mind we aren't saying Blackman will definitely start, just that it's a good likelihood. He could have a setback or Taggart could reconsider. As far as I know, no definite decision has been made yet but wanted to pass this along since our earlier write-ups and Warchant Report assumed Hornibrook would be starting.
If we hear more we'll let you know.
