and not one cancelled game, despite 53 guys on each roster. Meanwhile, our 15-player basketball team has five cancellations out of, what, 17 possible games?

But, are our players taking this seriously? It may just be bad luck, but the FSU basketball team may have less games played than any other team. Women too.
Don't forget our football team and its nation high 3 cancellations.

The NFL did have quite a few game postponed. It's big business. These NFL games need to be played. Can't say the same for college basketball though.

College teams can’t call in extra players, not do they only play one game in a given week. This comparison is flawed

My understanding is that when the COVID test is positive, there is enough viral load to cause the test to be positive. So a positive result is usually accurate. I'm saying this as a cautionary statement since I have experienced being sick.

OP is on a ranting rage these past few weeks! I am beginning to hate FSU as much as he does! (Sarcasm font)!

Have we yet figured out whether someone under 25 is any more likely to die of COVID than a common cold?

I’ve had the virus myself and I’m 61. I was fine but a lot of folks my age and a little older are in real trouble if they get this.

But when it come to young athletes, I’m just not sure we’re not locking ourselves in the storm cellar to avoid a light shower.

controlling the spread with testing and quarantining has been one of the more effective ways of somewhat containing the virus to this point. Hopefully vaccines will let some of those restrictions loosen in the coming weeks/months.
And it’s an asterisk year. No way around it at this point.

The difference of student athletes verse professional who get tested daily. Roster size of basketball verse Football. The NFL did move some games from Sunday to Tuesday to ensure some teams had players thru protocol. Some teams signed temporary players to meet roster size. The problem is the contact tracing element that you quarantines people to see if symptoms pop up or three consecutive negative tests. FSU issues both were coming off road games with traveling arrangements that probably made contracting more diif to separate coaches and players.

NFL players are in a much more controlled environment. They aren't college kids on a college campus.

Didn't watch one snap for the first time in my life that I can remember, and didn't miss it.
