275 of 143,000 Covid deaths

Were under the age of 24. Why are we discussing kids not going to school and no football? It’s time to get on with life.
Absolutely. It’s ridiculous at this point. Don’t be a sheep.

This is the 275th thread at least and it just gets people going, did you read DOTs message fyi
No I didn’t, don’t respond if you’re tired of talking about it. Just bringing this stat up because I wasn’t familiar with it. Again, go to bed if you don’t want to discuss.

saying dont be a sheep in fact is making you a sheep. And not being a scientist makes your statement even more difficult to take seriously.
What does your mayor think about it? I ask because at this point I’m only interested in hearing from Experts on the subject.

Are kids 24 and under able to transfer the deadly virus from person to person?

Probably not because somebody said they were “almost immune”.

The fact that actually PLAYING football is exponentially more dangerous for college aged adults than the risks from COVID make this whole "cancel football because COVID is such a risk" an absolute joke. Actually driving a car is exponentially more dangerous for a college aged adult than COVID. The numbers are available as referenced above. So stop the idiocy!!!

I’d say let’s play football. Opening schools is a question for the experts.

People die all the time, but they don't beat you over the head with it non stop. Covid has people scared of dying for the first time and most are acting like imbeciles.

I actually encourage my 9 year old to lick handrails. Builds up immunity.

Per cdc.gov: Since Feb. 1, 45 American kids under 15 have died of Covid.

13,088 have died of all other causes.

Since Feb. 1, 11,371 Americans under 55 have died of Covid (most with serious comorbidities).

189,592 have died of all other causes.

What on earth are we doing???
I thought we were trying to protect the people who are 55+. Is that not what you're doing?

You miss the main point. It doesn't matter as much that those under 24 or other young people might not experience serious issues after infection with SARS-CoV-2. It's the larger number of older family members and others who they then spread the disease to, and then those older individuals suffer the consequences. I have been amazed and quite frankly disappointed at the large numbers of people on these boards that don't appear to care about their older family members and other fellow citizens. And some of their comments are just nasty e.g., "old people die". Going on 180,000 confirmed deaths from this disease, but I guess those individuals don't matter since they are mostly "old". At least that is what some here seem to believe.

Can't the same also be said for Costco, WalMart, Amazon, airport, hospitality workers etc? Workers out every day coming into contact with literally hundreds if not thousands of people weekly. These players are in dorms and student housing. Much easier to keep those at risk away than the multi-generational family relying on a Costco paycheck. And the players and staff are tested at least one a week. I guarantee the workers I mentioned would love to have the luxury to be tested that frequently.

Well, those individuals are working to feed and house themselves and their family, pay college tuition etc. During this crisis, athletes will still have their scholarships (if they have one) and can continue their academic studies, whether they play CFB games or not. Having said that, I would personally like to see games this fall if that is possible.

the surge in deaths at the beginning of COVID was most closely linked to the insane policy of putting COVID patients in nursing homes and the passage of COVID between family members from young adults being sent home from colleges around the US.

as a parent of two college-aged kids including one at FSU, they rarely, especially my piggy bank raider in Tallahassee, want to be away from their peers. i think my daughter has a tighter relationship with tri-delta than she does with her mother and I! :Face with Tears of Joy

If it is about keeping the vulnerable safe and protecting our healthcare system like we were taught in March and April, then hopefully we will be successful.

Your trolling is way too obvious

I don't know much but it worries me to read that at age 27 Michael Ojo had recovered from Corvid-19 only to die from of a heart attack.
