Hey @iraschoffel , I may be overthinking this and simultaneously underrating the legal nightmare this would be, by why wouldn’t ESPN (since they already have the ACC) just pick the 4-6 best teams in the ACC and pair them with the remaining 4-6 “big”-ish names left out there from the PAC and the Big12? Imagine a THIRD league, not named the SEC or B10, that has FSU, Notre Dame (yes I understand they’d have to be paid handsomely but would it be worth it?), Miami, Clemson, something like UNC and VT, bringing in Wash, Oregon, Utah, Arizona State, Stanford, Cal (or something similar from the PAC), and then TCU, Baylor, Iowa State, WV, OkSt, Cinci (or something similar from Big12). That would do a couple things (besides being arguably better top to bottom than even the SEC), namely it would give ESPN financial control of over 2/3 the country, as opposed to just half, and would also probably force the Big10 (Fox) into forming their own 2nd league. Which would be made up of all the mid-lower tier leftovers and probably not viable, which ESPN would want to happen, right? This new 3rd league could easily be split into an eastern and western division. I’m sure I’m missing something, just seems like no one’s really talked about this and seems to me to be extremely advantageous for ESPN to do something similar, instead of doing this dodgeball game-like back and forth of you go then I go, you go then I go. Thanks!
