4 Rivers BBQ now open in tally

Doubt it. Probably a good feeling. Maybe similar to divorcing a shitty wife and then getting to bone hot college chicks whenever you felt like it.

I've eaten at the Jax location many times and their brisket is by far the best in town. Before they came along, I was a big fan of Mojos but 4 Rivers beats them by a mile.

To the contrary, I will be enjoying my future frequent visits. Oh and Shane kinda nailed the analogy.

Gotta support 4 Rivers. Food is really great, owner is a nole and all around good guy, and they treat their employees great according to my cousin who works in the one a block from the original location.

Whenever I am back in Orlando, I always make sure to go and get some Burnt Ends.

Interesting analogy there....

It's okay, IMO, but nothing better or worse than other chains.
To each his own but I disagree 100%. I love the place and go to the one in Winter Garden weekly. The beef brisket is the best I've ever had.

It will do very well in Tally.

Owner is a Nole grad and gives lots to charity and community service!

Most overrated BBQ place I've ever been too. When I moved to orlando everyone said I need to go, good sides, the meat however ( I've had ribs and brisket) are subpar at best.

Seems like photos could make the analogy more convincing.

Big 4 rivers fan went for lunch today and it was as good as the central Florida locations. I am glad my place is walking distance because that way too small parking lot is going to be a bigger nightmare.

Yeah, that parking lot was already horrible, can't imagine how bad it will be now. Not like you can park across the street either.

It's the best...go this week before people realize it's open and the students are still out of town because after that it's an hour+ wait in line just to get in the door

X2 - people wait in line for this? The one in Tampa is a major disappointment. Brisket is dry and ribs subpar. Wife refuses to give it a second try.

Totally disagree-brisket is really good. I go to the one in Orlando all the time. The ribs are hit or miss though. Nothing like dreamland or places I go to when I visit Bham.

Orlando is the BBQ hell of the south. A shockingly thin array of quality BBQ outlets. 4Rivers is the best of the bunch by a healthy margin. The owner is a super guy and a big Nole fan. All of that said, I wonder if maybe they expanded too much and too quickly. The main man obviously can't be at all of these places doing his original magic.

Best around. On your first visit, don't screw it up, just get the brisket sandwich and enjoy. Baked beans are a meal in themselves. Bread pudding is awesome and so are the fried pickles.

I'm to the point now where I don't eat bbq out anymore. 90% of the time it's not as good as I can make it and 100% of the time it's overpriced for what you get...

I basically only eat out anymore if it's something I can't make better at home like Oriental/sushi, Greek or Mexican...

I cater it in for lunches in winter park and really like it. Bbq stinks in Florida but four rivers is good. Love the jalapeno peppers.

Tried it for the first time today....loved it, nice atmosphere.....and owner is a Nole.

Love it.

Wait, did Shane get divorced yet?

Knowing nothing about this restaurant but knowing a thing or 2 about Tally, I'd agree, but clarify:

- It will do very well in Tally, with hourlong waits for a table, for 6 months or so;
- For 2 years or so after that, when you can walk in and get a table, it will continue to be a good place but you'll notice that the quality, portions, and service have been reduced from what you remembered from your first few visits;
- For 1-2 years after that, the place will be nearly empty, and you'll notice that it's understaffed and overcooked, and think "this place has seriously gone downhill"
- Then it will be shuttered.

Obviously there are exceptions-- the places that have stayed open for 10+ years, but most seem to come and go as described above, and based on odds alone, that's what I'd expect from this place.
