Did I miss any season 3 threads on House of Cards? I've watched all of season 3 and I don't think I've seen any discussion here.

Also, has anyone else watched A & E's The Returned? A & E, IMO, either puts out a really good series or a really shitty series and after just two episodes of The Returned, I am hooked. I love shows that keep me guessing or have me trying to figure out where this is going.

I loved The Following on Fox, and I thought that even season 2 was too long and they should have stuck with their original idea of going just one, 13 episode season.

I think that The Returned is perfect for a series that is just one season long. Too many times a series will stretch out to the point the last season or last couple of seasons are just filled with crap. Everyone Loves Raymond ended at just the perfect time.

Anyway, I like the story line and the show is just edgy enough to keep me intrigued. I don't watch zombie movies at all, and this is not written in a zombie theme. I liked how A & E made episode 2 available On Demand right after episode 1 ended, and I wish they had done the same with episode 2/3.

Is it possible, that down the road, cable will make a whole series available all at once, like Netflix does? I doubt it because the ad revenue will tank, but I love the concept that Netflix presents, all though Netflix does not generate revenue off of advertising like the cable networks do.

If you like the A & E version, I strongly recommend you check out the French series on which it is based, Les Revenants. I believe it was on Sundance and can be seen on Netflix streaming.

Just found it on Netflix, wish I had taken French in high school I instead of Spanish!

Merci!

OK, I've watched the first two A & E episodes and most of the first original French episode, and word for word, they are almost exactly the same, including the unknown boy's name being Victor. The only difference I can see at this point is that the librarian has a young daughter in the French version.

When they're older, so I assume the kids are 21+ now. The French version showed the really, really young twin girl getting laid as her sister's bus was crashing because Victor was standing in the road. The American version didn't show the old man burning his house down before jumping off of the bridge (US)/damn (FRA).

Other than that, they are really similar, right down to the exact dialogue in a lot of instances.

Gonna watch FRA, episode #2 right now.

So the American version doesn't show the girl losing her virginity.

How are they tying the relationship/conflict between the twins if the viewer doesn't know that one twin is a hoochie who banged her twin sisters crush?

They probably won't have all the sex scenes and boobies in the A&E version, right? (I recall there being sex scenes and pretty sure there were gratuitous amounts of boob shots in the French version)

OK, so I watched the all huit episodes of the French series, and I really liked it! There were a few tittie scenes, but nothing that would be worth writing about, unless I was 12 years old.

I have seen the first two A & E episodes, and they are more or less the same, without the French subtitles. At this point for A & E, their story line starts to change a little, but I don 't think that I will continue watching after watching all 8 French episodes. I do really like Jeremy Sisto as an actor, but I don't think I can drink a RC Cola after just gulping down a glass of Coca Cola.

How come Serge, his mother and his just killed off brother weren't called back by The Resevants?

Les Revenants was aired in 2012 and won the Euro equivalent of the 2013 Emmy for best drama series, why are they now just in production for season 2?

One thing I really did notice was how liberal the French is when it came to underage drinking, smoking and sex being televised. If this was shown on US network TV, even cable, I think that there would be some kind of blow back from the press.

Growing up in a family with a lot of Canadian lineage (especially on my father's side, I can speak a little Canadian, but I can read Canadian somewhat (maybe 75 on a scale to 100), but I have a tough time understanding the actual spoken language (maybe a 30 out of 100 with 100 being fluent). What a lot of people don't realize is that the Canadian and French dialects are a lot different, which is why I took Spanish and not French in high school, as I was going to have my grandmother and uncle help me with French, but when they looked at the text book that my sister was using, they had a lot of trouble picking up in it.
