I think the objection of many people is that this year's schedule has two unattractive cupcake games. A simple solution would be to go to 9 ACC conference games. In the years that we don't play the Gators at home, we would have 5 ACC home games plus one cupcake game. In the years we do play the Gators at home, we would have 4 ACC home games plus the cupcake. An added bonus of this type of scheduling would be getting to see interesting teams from the other side of the conference more often like Virginia Tech, Virginia, Georgia Tech and North Carolina.
This type of schedule would still leave room for either an out-of-conference neutral-site game or an out of conference home-and-home game against a good opponent. In the years we have the out-of-conference game at home we would have seven home games.
