And this is why despite being Libertarian in political bent I can never be part of the party

For the record, their US Senate candidate is a follower of Thelema which technically isn't Satanism although both come from the teachings of Aleister Crowley. But it's probably ok to consider Thelemites, Satanists and Luciferians as all stemming from the same overall sect since they all follow Crowleys Book of Laws just in the same way Mormons, Catholics and Baptists are stemming from the same overall sect.

So let's see...I'm supposed to vote for a guy who names himself in Latin as the "Unconquerable Sun God", uses Mussolinis imagery on his campaign materials, was allegedly ejected from the Thelemic "church" for taking too much joy in his ritualistic sacrifices and unnecessarily and brutally dismembering it and playing with the pieces (supposedly, I wasn't there), says he was prophesied to lead in a Great War, advocates everyone take LSD, and on his own website said "that if I did not witness the coming of the Second American Civil War I would begin it myself.”

Likewise you can abstain from being part of a party and just vote once the party determines who their candidate is.

I think primaries and primary voting are so overrated.

Now this I agree with. I was a Republican until two primaries ago simply so I could vote in the primary and figured as a white male their party would do the least amount of damage to my interests compared to the Democrats. When I finally got tired of the Neocons, I just switched to Independent.

Just whackadoos all over the official party, to the point they make even the Tea Party look sane.

Would you mind sharing what it is you think makes the tea party not sane? I have been to 3 TP rallies and have found nothing about their message controversial at all. Limited government, less spending, protect our borders was the main issues I heard being discussed. Does not sound like crazy ideaology to me. And before you respond with some rant about the movement being filled by racist whites, I was invited to the meetings by two black co-workers. I would say about 15% of the crowd at each event was black.
