In today's ESPN CFB Nation ACC blog, Adelson brings out the strong facts that indicate that the low perception of the ACC is unwarranted. It's a good read. Swofford's comments were a bit tepid, but I don't know if he was directly responding to the facts that Adelson collected or if his quote was lifted from a different conversation. Nevertheless, this goes back to one issue that some FSU trustees had at a prior meeting - how come people are already assuming that the ACC will not be in the playoff this year unless they have an undefeated team? It appears that Swofford and our ACC rep on the committee - Radkovich - go out of their way to defend the committee. My view is that the leaders are supposed to be cheerleaders for the conference and not defend the reasons for the low perception - or for FSU's low ranking in the 2014 committee deliberations. I know that some on this board gave some good reasons for this lower ranking - but my view is that sometimes you have to irrationally supportive of your team just to balance out the negativity from the other members.
I look forward to hear Thrasher's comments now that he will be a member of the oversight committee.
