I have an S4 on Verizon and the Lollipop OS was pushed for download this morning. I wish I hadn't updated. Nothing says adult smart phone like LeapFrog children's electronics-style graphics and clunky functionality.

Can you go back to the old system, I hate the upgrade?

I have an S4 and it works perfectly fine on mine. I like it.
I just downloaded it yesterday, not realizing it was a full system upgrade and not just an update. Things look quite different and so when I searched for tricks and tips online I see a bunch of threads from users who are totally up in arms, regretting having downloading it and demanding they get their old version back. I'm nit sure if their concerns (lost apps, reduced battery life...) are valid or if it's just the ole resistance to change thing that seems to plague us all.

I really don't like it. I feel like my battery is better after wiping the partitions but some of the small changes are annoying. I used to hold the power button then change to vibrate or sound. I could do that if the phone was unlocked or not. Now I have to unlock it and swipe down the notification panel. A small change but pain. Also the notification for messages/calls sucks.

I can get used to the new look of stock apps. But decreased wifi connectivity, and the apparent necessity of either doing a factory reset or wiping all the data from the email app just to get the email notification light to blink, is nonsense.

I liked the upgrade, but I think there is a memory leak in it that slows the phone over time(s5).

It's an Android, root it and install what you like or go backwards, or you can go iPhone and deal with whatever the ghost of Steve Jobs wants you and 3rd graders to be able to use.

I forgot to charge my phone and had a field trip. I turned off 3 of 4 processors. I turned everything black and off except my text and phone. I used 3% battery on the day.

I love Android.

The one that got me is that the keyboard started lagging after the update. Rebooting fixed it temporarily, so it's probably a memory leak or something. I fixed it permanently, I hope, by switching to Google Keyboard.
