I have devised a new diet that will work wonders:
Its called "KEEP YOUR ASS OUT OF THE REFRIGERATOR!!"
It works each year I try it. The problem is extending this diet for the full calendar year.
Those last two months. Damn those Triglycerides! Full Steam Ahead!

This thread gives me inspiration - the last 10-years my knees went bad, my weight went up, my sleeping went down. But now my two artificial knees have settled in, I've been fast walking a couple of miles a day, quiting sweet tea is the next hurtle.

I need help on my knees at this point. If I don’t walk or exercise every day they just don’t work like they should.

I can't barely even get on my knees anymore. How about you?
The knees can be so fickle.

I hear you, swimming pool exercise would be the best if you have access which I don't.

From something you said a long time ago I bet you are familiar with my normal route - Waters Meet to Bass Bay to Lake Monkey Business and back. It has hardly changed in the last 25-years, meanwhile the rest of Bradfordville has blown up there is a new proposal for up to 2,800 homes behind Chiles H.S.

Good luck on your end, hope is eternal, I want to drop 40-pounds by fall and maybe even have a better football program by then!

My best weight loss ever occurred when cutting back on carbs and only eating b/w 11am-6pm

Get up, have some coffee and drink water until lunch at 11 - really wasn't that bad. If I found myself missing breakfast foods I would just go to Waffle House for lunch!

Exercise can help - especially the one where you push yourself away from the table. I hate that one.

Rest easy, folks. Order this as a sure fire way to prevent overeating.... :)

I'm currently doing whole30 and intermittent fasting. Started at 183lbs, my heaviest weight ever, expect to be closer to 170lbs when the 30 days are up.

I have the yoyo game of diets for years and thru the years I have probably lost 150lbs but would always put it back on in about the same amount of time it took for me to lose it. Facing my 2nd knee replacement I knew I needed to lose some weight to help with the recovery. Not wanting to just do another diet and be back on the yoyo weight game I decided to go on lifestyle change. Like all of us I knew the key to losing weight was to burn more than I take in. I love to eat so I did not want to do some extreme diet where I ate just enough to make me mad. So I decided to change the way I ate. I now limit myself to one portion of each food I want to eat, never get 2nds. I drink water with most meals. I limit myself to 2 servings of red meat a month. The only sweets I eat is on Sunday and then just a moderate serving. For meats if it does not fly or swim I really hold to the limit of 2X a month. Lot's of veggies. Until it got too cold I was swimming 4X a week. Now I am riding an exercise bike until the water warms back up.

I started this Aug. 1 and as of this morning my weight loss is 46 lbs with a goal of 34 more lbs. It is the first time I felt I am eating in a way I can maintain it for the rest of my life.

Currently doing Keto. I'm really missing my beer and never been a fan a ultra light water down varieties. I have made it through the first 7 days on this diet so that brings me up to a 8% chance of actually losing weight in the future.

Keto really works, that's when I switched to drinking tequila neat, which is amazing as long as you find good tequila.

Down 9 lbs now! I would not have believed this diet would work this fast and well. I guess my normal intake consisted of carb-loading at every meal and a couple of beers each night added to the total in case I missed a carb during the day. :) Once I reduced the carbs I consumed the weight is flying off.

That's awesome congrats I plan on going back to it at some point, probably after my wife gives birth.

And then what? That’s my issue with some of these diets is they’re kind of the typical yo yo thing. Losing 10lbs in a month is a lot when you weren’t that big to begin with.

183 is heavy for me, I should be 170-175 depending on how much time I spend in the gym.
Long-term, my plan is to keep the intermittent fasting going and modifying the Whole30 to make it sustainable. My wife lives a Whole30 lifestyle, so that's helpful.
