Want to do a print of a special sunset on metal...assume that would be aluminum.
I could just use something with say Snapfish unless someone has a better suggestion?

thx

Yes, metal = aluminum

But oh lord, do NOT use Snapfish or anything like that. I've had prints done on metal from a variety of legit places and they're all comparable. I also went cheap last year and did a Snapfish equiv and literally tossed the prints. They were straight garbage. The problem with the cheaper options is that they are super thin and print directly on silver alumnium - what you want is white/white gloss. With a silver base you can literally see "metal".

My first metal print I went with Shiny Prints (they're out of Jupiter) and they did a fantastic job.

I did my next round with CGProprints.com and they were definitely comparable (cheaper) but missing out on some of the things from Shiny Prints.

Shiny Prints price matches - but that information is buried within their FAQ and I felt guilty about continually ordering from them and asking for a price match. Plus I wanted to see how some of the other options compared. If you're doing a one time order I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them and ask them to price match somewhere like CG Pro Prints especially if you wait for the latter to have a sale.

Here's the owl I did with Shiny Prints:

Yes, a Boreal Owl from Northern Minnesota a few winters back.

Here's one from CG Pro Prints for comparison.

Probably not really evident from photos but the edges and corners are more "crisp" on the one from Shiny Prints. And I have to say that the Shiny Prints hanging system is much better compared to the default from CG.

Those are stunningly beautiful! Thank you!

I wish! Of course my wife would tell you with what I've spent on photography gear that I should be. 😆

I'm actually a mortgage underwriter. Unfortunately nobody buys bird photos and everyone with a cell phone or SLR is a "photographer" these days, so not much in the way of being able to sell stuff.
