He's a Kentucky guy and just released his first solo record. He's along time country music writer and has probably written many songs that you all might recognize.

Here's an recent appearance on Letterman. Chris is appearing live here in Lexington on Sunday afternoon at a record store that I frequent. I've been aware of him for some time now....he's played in a couple bands all around, including Lexington.

Hope you all dig it. The best thing that's happened to Country music in a long time is this record as well as Sturgill Simpson. Also, Dwight Yoakam's new album is a must get, too.

I will add that the steel guitar player is Robby Turner. Robby was Waylon Jenning's last great sttel guitar player and record producer. He's still not as good as the incomparable Ralph Mooney ( Waylon's first great steel guitar player) but he's damn good.

Some Kentucky guys I was in training with told me about him. I've been meaning to listen to some of his stuff

I like Chris alot. Has written a few hits for other artists like the following:

George Strait -Love's Gonna Make it Alright
Darius Rucker-Come Back Song
Luke Bryan-Drink a Beer
Josh Turner-Your Man

I actually prefer his versions to a few of the mainstream hits by the aforementioned artists.

I dig it, you missed my Sturgill Simpson post in your hiatus. I'm going to see Sturgill at Red Rocks in July. This guy is pretty good. I need to get the new Yoakam record, I always liked him.

That's a great tune. This guy has been getting great critical acclaim lately, and for good reason.
