Anywhere good to eat in Tuscaloosa?

Then head to innisfree for a drink.

Been there four times now since my daughter now goes to school there, and I haven't had a good meal yet. Haven't made it to Dreamland yet.

Had Dreamland in Birmingham a few months ago. First time I've never finished a rib meal in my life. Ribs were extremely tough. Had their pulled pork nachos at the Ole Miss/Bama game and was not impressed.

That is the problem once they start to franchise. Tuscaloosa is the original, though it's been many years, I remember it being very good.

Going to be there for work tonight and looking for a dinner spot.
Man you guys need to do your research. Our son and family live there and they have some great restaurants. Surprising for a less than major league city. But you are correct--Dreamland is not what it used to be.

Against my better judgment, I just ate at Dreamland BBQ. I'm very fond of saying how BBQ - all BBQ - is average, and this place was no different.

It's just not an exciting cuisine.

If you come to Tuscaloosa, skip Dreamland. That's my $.02

I agree with the guy from above, find you something good to eat at the KD sorority house, bring your A game though.

Really, couldn't you just name one for us? I'm sure there has to be something good there...but so far nobody on this thread has found it during a visit.

Les,

I disagree with you about BBQ overall, but I concur with your assessment of Dreamland. I've been underwhelmed both times I've eaten there......and there won't be a 3rd time.

Disappointing to read the negatives on Dreamland, which supposedly is opening a location in Tallahassee soon.

I've been to the Dreamland in Birmingham also. Like you, the ribs I had were about as tender as shoe leather.
