Always interested in apps that are worth using. I just started using one called Wazi - let's you know, among other things, where cops are on the road, whether they are shooting radar etc... Also, even if you object to this sort of thing, it also alerts you of hazards in the roadway. This morning on my way to work the app suddenly says, "watchout - object in roadway" and darned if there was not an object 50 yards ahead in the middle of the road.

Waze. Harder to find with the I. Great App.

Office Lens - for receipts and what not, if you don't already have a similar app

Office Lens trims, enhances, and makes pictures of whiteboards and docs readable. You can use Office Lens to convert images to PDF, Word and PowerPoint files, and you can even save images to OneNote or OneDrive. - LINKY

I was using Waze but their information in it is built into Google Maps, which makes sense considering Waze is owned by Google. Google Maps is something I use on a daily basis.

Just downloaded Lose It -

Storm, by weather underground is a great weather app. It's only on iPhone though.

Also if you have an iPhone it has a barometer in it. There are a number of free apps to access it.

Marine Traffic or other AIS apps are cool if your boating. They track and identify all commercial ships as well as many private ones and even virtual navigation aids.

What do you mean by built in? I don't see any option to see the same data, besides traffic.

I had too many questions about the info Waze was asking for and using so I deleted before ever using.

My main apps are
Google Maps
Wunderground for weather
United Airlines
BeFunky for photo editing
Concur for work expenses
Overdrive for eBooks from local public libraries
Team Snap for kids' sports schedules

Google maps will tell you accidents, road construction, etc. If you hit the icon it tells you what the problem is and where, and says reported via Waze app or something like that.

Waze was bought by Google last year, but the app is still better than using google navigate/maps.
I like WeatherBug for my weather app, seems better forecasts than some of the others.
Overdrive is a good one for readers.
c:geo for you geocachers
Google sky

Accidents reported by Waze are layered into Google Maps on Android phones. It also has alternate routes.
Waze is all about the cops and hazards, like cars on the side of the road or debris in the road, which probably doesn't arise to the level of appearing on Google maps.

I will agree it asks way too many questions and tries to connect you like LinkedIn. You gotta turn all of that off.

Yahoo Weather
Mailbox (instead of Apple's mail app)
Sunrise (calendar)
Dropbox / Carousel
FlightStats
GateGuru (in airport food options)
Google Analytics
Warchant (before it stopped working)
Yahoo Sports
Spotify

Warchant app still works, you just have to click on each thread twice. First time it asks you to log in and you cancel, second time it opens. Obnoxious but true.

You know an app I would like to have.

I would like an app where I could put in a distance, like 5 miles, and then it route several paths that will take you 5 miles and all lead back to your starting point. Would be a great App for running and biking.

Does this exist?

CudaSign is one of my most utilized. Allows you to open and sign documents right from your phone.

GeniusScan also is very helpful. Take pictures, convert to PDF and email.

Dan...just curious...why do you have decking for your avatar?

One of my first threads maybe 10 years ago was "going to build a deck". I posted it early in the week and was trolled on epic proportions leading up the weekend. Ended up building the deck over the weekend while posting pics of my progress along the way.

My avatar is a pic of the deck.

Can't live without these
Inbox
Dropbox
Textra
SwiftKey
Google Keep
Popcorn Time
AllCast

And my personal favorite these days is Keeper. Love it with the fingerprint scanner on my Note 4. Allows me to quickly log into my bank apps, websites, etc. It's encrypted and you can set it to self destruct (clear data on device) if someone enters password incorrectly too many times.

Dark Sky is a weather app that sends you a warning when it is about to start raining where you are. In addition to the normal weather app stuff, it also has a chart of how heavy the rain will be and for how long. It's great for summer afternoon storms that blow through.

You do know that cops get on Waze too, right? They delete cop locations.

It shouldn't matter because the next guy will add them back. It's really not efficient for the cops to be on an app deleting their location, but hey I've seen them do some weird isht to fill quotas

I have been using the Lose It app for the last month as I've tried to change the way I eat on a daily basis. It is a great tool to help you achieve your goals.

Forgot to mention watchESPN and tunein. Used both on the drive home last night. Got to see the crazy end to the Michigan state/Michigan game. Also forgot OneDrive and OneNote. Use them daily.

I tried Waze and just didn't like it at all. Too busy, tried to show me advertised locations or something...now that Google Maps remaps for bad traffic, that works for me.

The most useful app that I've found recently is called PhotoMath.

The daughter is taking high school algebra and this app lets you take a picture of a math problem, then gives you the solution, as well as all the steps needed to solve the problem.

It's made it so I don't have to re-learn everything that she's covering in order to help her. Instead, checking her homework is like scanning groceries: I go from problem to problem until I find one that she got wrong, then I compare her steps to the steps it provides, looking for a discrepancy. Once I find where the difference is, I can help her to understand the specific part where she messed up, learn how to do it correctly, then move on.

I'm not sure how advance the app will cover, but for now it's really helped a lot.

You were trolled much worse over your infamous date night with Lizk. We would all much rather look at her than your deck...

Yes this is true.

You should Facebook her dude...plenty of pics of her there for you to view.

Waze is not a traffic app.
It's a GPS with traffic and user-entered information. I'm surprised how much easier it is to get parked on game day using it. If you fully participate in it you'd better be a passenger, though. It can be very distracting.

This, I work with Special Ed kids through all subjects, good to be able to check multiple subjects quickly.
