passing on a player because of "character" issues?
Although as much as said about Jameis as anyone, no team passed on him because Tampa Bay took him with the first pick. Even so, Tampa took a little bit of heat for the pick. Other than a mis-speak at an elementary school which I'm sure Jameis would phrase differently in the future (still no big deal) there have been no negative issues with Jameis. He's been a great team mate, and is the budding super star most FSU expected him to be.
Dalvin Cook - Slipped to #41 amid concerns of hanging with wrong crowd. Obviously too early to tell for sure since pre-season hasn't even begun. But, when players get in trouble it is the off season when it seems to happen most often.
Timmy Jernigan - 1st round talent that fell to Baltimore at #48 - an infamous diluted urine sample by another player. Jernigan has been a stud on the field and no off field problems that I am aware of. The Ravens traded him before the draft to the Eagles in large part because they didn't think they could pay him after this year when he becomes a free agent. A lot of scouts and GM's have to be regretting their decision to pass on Jernigan.
Johnny Manziel - Well, the Browns will be the Browns. Geeesh, who could have seen that coming, LOL?
Joe Mixon - #48 pick by the Bengals in this years draft. Too early to tell how he does in the NFL, but the tape is all I needed to see.
Many other players get tabbed one way or the other. When do you think these scouts and GM's start regretting their decisions?
Edited for recent news - Dante Fowler, 3rd pick in 2015 draft, LOL
