The Athletic subhead: Will the SEC send a record 12 teams to Regionals?
The article projected a 64-team field with 12 SEC teams listed, seven as No. 1 seeds.
Because I am so small as to count, I counted ACC teams and found they had project 10, with six No. 1 seeds including FSU – second only to the SEC. You might be happy to know, or not, that Miami was not in the field of 64.
The Big 12 and Big 10 ranked third and fourth respectively, with six and four team in the field and one No. 1 seed each.
The number behind the name is the seeding.
