What depresses me the most about the Noles' most recent chapter of suckage is its TIMING.
We recently lost Bobby Bowden, the greatest-ever representative and ambassador of FSU. I thought maybe the Noles could halfway duplicate 1976 -- Bobby's first year here -- where they showed heart, promise and IMPROVEMENT. 1976 was not a great season, record-wise, but you could SEE AND FEEL THE TIDE CHANGING. Bobby lit a very tangible fire in Tallahassee those 45 years ago. He gave us hope. What incredible symmetry if the 2021 Noles could somehow do the same (or even something colorably close). What a wonderful tribute if the Bowden family could "feel" and celebrate the same FSU resurgence that Bobby started decades ago.
Instead, the Noles -- coached by guys making HUGE MULTIPLES of the mere $35,000 Bobby made in 1976 -- publicly humiliate themselves and our great university. Losing to complete chumps like JSU and Wake. What in the absolute hell has happened to us?? Show some pride. This is humiliating. Norvell gets up and spews soaring rhetoric about Bobby's "legacy." Shut the hell up and get this fixed. I hate how the current program-wide incompetence distracts from Bobby's national remembrance.
