I went to Moscow in the summer of 2016 - to get a 15 day visa, it cost my company $900-ish and I had to tell enough lies to get me thrown in jail. Or rather, sign my name to lies that "a visa specialist" made up for me. While the Russkiye love to come to the US for drinking and shopping, they make it very difficult and expensive to sit in Moscow's traffic jams.

The expense made a great excuse for me not to go this summer, instead sending people from my staff.
