I am a proud graduate of FSU and have been a rabid Seminole fan for almost sixty years now, but what I saw on the football field last night sickened me. Candidly, I am not the most knowledgeable person about how to coach a football team, but that decision to forego kicking the chip shot field goal when we were up 17-7 will go down in Seminole football history as one of the worst dumbass coaching decisions since I have been watching college football games, and makes me question whether Mike Norvell is really the man we need to lead us out of the football Hell we are trapped in....and I have been a huge Mike Norvell fan ever since he was hired. And can Adam Fuller not even spell "prevent defense", much less implement one for the last freakin' play of the game? And how is it possible for an offensive line to be stupid enough to commit that damned many drive-killing penalties in a game where we're favored by 4+ touchdowns? I'm generally a fan of Alex Atkins, but is OL coaching a factor along with the obvious lack of talent? And why can we not have some consistent play out of our DBs? Is it coaching or simply the fact that some of the kids don't seem to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time?
I hate to think of what may have happened to our promising class of recruits last night when they watched that damned debacle after the high of watching our game against Notre Dame!
I suppose some of my questions will be answered next week against Wake Forest--and I remember when Wake Forest was a damned joke that everyone tried to add to the schedule to get another game in the win column! If we play like we did last night I anticipate a slaughter along the lines of the one that ended a previous coach's distinguished career at FSU.
I truly love my 'Noles, but thank God it's just a football game.
