Black Mirrors on Netflix

I've watched a couple and they were interesting. I believe each episode is unrelated to any of the others so I'm sure there are some better than others. I'm planning on going back again, just got distracted as I finally got my wife to watch Stranger Things and GoT/Ballers/Hard Knocks came back.

Finished Ozark, this was suggested to me.

Just watched the first episode, anyone else watch this, should I keep going?

Black Mirror is fantastic. One of my favorite recent streaming shows. First episode, oddly, was one of my least favorite episodes from the show.

Subject matter is often a bit disturbing, thought-provoking, and can make you uncomfortable.

And yes, every episode is completely unrelated to each other episode. No need to watch them in order at all. I actually watched Season 2 before Season 1.

Keep watching, there aren't very many episodes. The White Christmas episode is top-notch.

Seems a bit like new-age Twilight Zone/Twin Peaks type of alternate realities (like black mirrors, I guess?) The second one was definitely better than the first. I've read that there are a couple of episodes that reference earlier ones, but not in a directly-related or sequencing type of way.

I'll keep with it.

I've heard those theories, but they don't necessarily play off each other. I think that comes to fruition a bit in the finale episode, there are some easter egg type references to season 1.

The "black mirror" is the phone/device screen. It's all a commentary on technology.

I've watched several and it's good stuff generally, but I kind of just tired out on it. My main issue is that they are frequently much too long for the story they are trying to tell. Several of them felt really stretched/padded/repetitive. Hell, I love the Twilight Zone, and even a lot of those drag in <30 minutes when you're just trying to pound home a single point. I didn't love the first one, but at least it was a series of events that seemed to fill the running time better than some of the ones that followed.

That said, I should pick back up, especially if they get better and better.

I certainly would. Not every one follows that same pattern. Other than "The Entire History of You", Season 1 was lacking compared to Season 2 and 3. Season 2, outside of Waldo, is fantastic. Season 3 has hits and misses. Nosedive and San Junipero were very thought provoking, even if San Junipero wasn't my favorite episode.

I watched the first episode of the 3rd season not long after there was a discussion about Uber ratings on this board and about died. The timing could not have been more perfect.

The show is good but expect a very dark and somewhat depressing ending in all of them. I found the show above with a somewhat happier ending, compared to the others, even though my wife disagrees.

Even though she ends up in prison, she now can use free speech and found the only place in society that the personal rating system has no value.

Agreed, not feel good stories. But extremely thought provoking and weirdly entertaining. A different kind of show from the norm

Totally helps that this one was the star of Season 2, Ep 1. Damn Agent Carter.
