I am heading to Indianapolis in just over a week. Any good local breweries I should not miss?? (I know this will get more responses than my last post lol)

Good stuff.
You are just waisting your money if you go to Weber Grill. If you are just looking for a brewery that is in the heart of downtown go to RAM or Rock Bottom. If you are wanting to go to a sports bar with a good crowd go to Kilroy's or Scotty's Brewhouse.

Just got back from Indy. First off, St Elmo's is amazing. weber Grill doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same paragraph.
Ram is a national chain - as is rock bottom, with nothing local or distinctive to Indy.
Scotty's Brewhouse would be my recommendation. It's owned by Scott Wise - who with his brothers, founded 3wisemen. Very good beer and its a local brewery.

Ram's Head Tavern is my favorite btw...

Scotty's is great (I live in West Lafayette, we have one here that predates the couple that are down in Indy. I believe the first was in Muncie)

I actually did a brewbus tour of Indy's breweries last summer. I would check out Flat 12 and Sun King. Bier Brewery is quite good, but a long ways from downtown. Skip Fountain Square, I was not impressed with any of their offerings.

St Elmo's is great, and something of a local institution. Harry and Izzy's is a related restaurant that is a bit more casual.

If you dig German food, check out the Rathskellar.

Are you staying downtown? The JW Marriot is my favorite of the available hotels.

Triton has some really great beers, but I've never toured their facility so I can't speak to it.

Sun King is the best in Indy. If you have time for a bit of a road trip, head to Munster for Three Floyds. If you have time to hit a bottle shop, get Three Floyds. Best in the state by far.

I had lunch at Scotty's in West Lafayette on Friday! Great beer and pretty good food as well! First time I have seen peanut butter on a cheeseburger! Tastes much better than it sounds!!

Glad you enjoyed it. I have yet to try the burger with peanut butter (mostly because I don't like peanut butter very much). If you're a beer person, you should check out People's Brewery down on 9th street in Lafayette if you ever make it back to town.

Will do. Purdue is one of my clients so I will be back with some regularity.

The Black Sparrow is right across the river from Scotty's (there's a walking bridge), and has good food and a good beer selection. Scotty's is also within easy walking distance of Nine Irish Brothers, which is a place that started in WL and recently expanded to Indy (over on Mass Ave, I think).
