Bucs bring in competition for Aguayo..

How can you blame them I am a season ticket holder I don't think Roberto is the Bucs kicker this year. Might be one of the better draft mistakes in years. A 2nd and 3rd round pick for a kicker who was in Tampa 1 season. I'm a fan of Roberto so I hope he gets the job done

Roberto regressed from 2013 on. Pretty odd. I mean, he started his career nearly perfect so no place to go but down, but he's continued that trajectory his entire career so far.

Looking at Atlanta's second round pick along with our needs in the defensive backfield. Ouch.

Yeah, pretty ugly start. But who knows, this could be the kick in the pants he needs to take his game to the next level. We know he has it in him.

Don't really know how these things go in the Pro's, but I do know that teams don't keep 2 kickers. Since they just signed Folk, is it likely that there will be a competition or is Aguayo out?

One'll get cut about week 3 of the pre-season as the roster deadlines approach. If Aguayo finds his form again (or is at least equal to Folk) he'll keep his job IMO.

It's common for teams to have two kickers in camp at the beginning of the season, even if they pretty much know that they are keeping the incumbent. It keeps them from overworking the guy they keep, and it lets them get a look at someone else in case the #1 guy gets injured. They'll also frequently give some courtesy to the guy they cut, letting him go with enough time for him to possibly catch on with another team.

In this case, I imagine it will be a true, open competition. If Roberto performs well, he'll probably keep his job. If it's neck & neck, it may well come down to money.
