I just read that Jacksonville will be getting this Tally-based restaurant soon, opening next week - is it worth a try?
It's one of the eateries that only offer breakfast and lunch, so I'd have to plan on a weekend brunchy kind of thing.

I've been to two of them. Liked the one on Capital Circle more than the one on hwy 27. Could have just been timing.

To me they're a bit like Metro Diner.

The one on Capital Circle is great. Good food and generous portions.

I’ve eaten at Metro Diner in Jax and like their menu a little better, but not a knock on Canopy Roads.

Wish we had a Metro Diner in Tally.

I heard it was an offspring to Applebees and will have their own bigger bar in the back.

I, too, wish Tallahassee got a Metro Diner in the trade. Canopy Road is good, but they don't have Eggs Benedict. I can cook a good homemade breakfast, so when I eat breakfast out, I want someone else to cook me some Bennies.

They're opening two more locations in NE Florida. One in Neptune Beach and another in the new Earth Fare shopping center on CR210.

I'm very excited about this news, too! And definitely do the brunch thing. I hear its all you can eat. And I come hungry! The Cantalope Buffet is coming soon!
Yep. The intersection of Philips and Old St. Augustine.
Is this on the Southside of town? I'm already worked up just thinking about the place.

It's pretty solid. A lot of competition though in Jax compared to Tallahassee. They needed to make a move into Neptune and 210 to get the name out there.

Kiki's is another one in Jax that is gaining popularity. Then of course you have Another Broken Egg, First Watch, Beach Diner, Metro Diner and I'm probably missing a few others that are in Jacksonville.

To be honest, Waffle House opened a nice location on San Jose in Mandarin and it's very clean with solid clientele. Nothing beats saddling up at the counter of a Waffle House getting an All-Star special smothered with butter and syrup and a little George Strait on the jukebox.

To each their own.

I've eaten at the new Kekes in Durbin. It's a solid offering but I would go to First Watch, Cafe Genovese or Canopy Road first.

CR 210 represent!!! Just had a house built in ‘18 on CR 210. Area is blowing up. Can wait to see what they put in Beach Walk.

I'm in Northern St John's County. Beach Walk is going to be an interesting development. The houses are already way overpriced but the retail and commercial developments will probably be top notch.

Agreed on WH. Love mine on CR210. Nestled in between two truck stops it has its fair share of salty dogs. Nothing like listening to stories of the road with a little Hank Williams Sr playing. Mandy is always pleasant. She quick with a joke or to light up your smoke.

Okay, you Jacksonville guys at least started to talk about a restaurant imported from Tallahassee. How about some feedback on one of yours that you've exported over here?

Dick's Wings has just opened near me. I'll be sure to check out the wings, probably this week, but I'm also interested in the other food items that might not be so rapidly lethal. Would appreciate any reviews on the place, which I'm already referring to as Jax Dicks.

It's been awhile since I've been to a Dick's Wings so I can't comment on the food. Place is busy of course on Saturday and Sundays during football season. Looks like a BW3 lite.

Don't bother. The wings are meh and the rest of the food is subpar.

Best wings from a place that started in JAX and is starting to spread through the state? V Pizza. Hands down.

I sure hope so! Special seating for families of eight.
