Ok TC, let's get your opinions. So Chip is taking some heat these days, deservedly so, but my question to you is, as nothing else but an FSU fan (put all NFL allegiances aside) do you want Chip to fail or succeed in the NFL.
Keep in mind some possibilities of each.
He succeeds:
Spread systems gain more momentum, Jimbo becomes less desirable to the pros and probably to some extent other big universities looking for the next hot coaching hire. Bad side, we also become less desirable to recruits you see the up and coming future of football phasing into the NFL, and the big time offensive skill guys want to play at spread schools.
He Fails: Litmus test results come back, if he can't do it, all spread guys can forget about NFL jobs. Chip is on the market so he becomes the hot name thus protecting us from losing Jimbo to a Texas or Bama next time one's open. And the pro style offense again becomes where QB's and skill guys want to go to prepare for the league.
Bad side: Jimbo becomes more desirable for the NFL, and little by little recruiting forces colleges to abandon the spread systems and present themselves more as a pro prep program thus making the big dogs come calling for the guy turning out pros more than anyone in just a few years down the road.
