Christmas Plans

About two weeks away from Christmas, anyone got good plans. I scheduled a bunch of out of town stuff right up until the end of next week, so looking forward to trying to relax. I told my wife that we are not going anywhere, not even down to Galveston for Christmas. I'll have a bunch of food and drink, people can come to our house. I'm planning on spending time in the kitchen and getting back into cooking. We have a tamale making party on the Sunday before Xmas. And i have to put together a Barbie Dream House -- so that will probably take all of Christmas Even.

My parents and the in-laws are staying with us. May need some Jack to get me through it.

I might ski with my nephews. But other than that we don't have a lot going on. This week is the first week mom and dad have been on their own at home since dad came home from his surgery. Typically family stays with them over Christmas but they're not up for that this year. I may host some of those folks and have them do day visits with mom and dad just to keep down the stress. Well, their stress...

Home to Tallahassee

Supposedly may have some white stuff on the ground out this way, so I'll be hanging out in the 3rd floor apartment waiting for a contract on the house.

The current plan is to go visit my Father-in-Law at his place in Nocatee for a few days after Christmas. While there we will most likely head to Kennedy Space Center for a day, and just hang out the remainder of the time.

Hopefully it is only a few days.

How is your dad doing?

He had a rough go of it but is doing better now. Some of his stroke symptoms came back after the surgery, which I guess is common but should fade after a few more weeks. And he had some other memory issues that are sometimes associated with the process. But he’s getting back to his old self now, just needs to keep up the PT.

Going to NYC

Having the in laws and my parents come to stay with the wife and I and the two kids. We will go out and get a Christmas tree before they all get here.(a tradition)
I have big plans to decorate the outside of the house with a zillion lights.
Christmas eve our aunt and her husband will come by..shes really old and has kinda lost it...wraps stuff up from around the house and brings as presents.
My wife is a bit worried, thinks I overdo things...don't know what she's talking about...hoping cousin Eddie and his crew don't show up.

Spending time with my little guy Christmas morning before sending him back to his mom that evening. Then sipping whiskey and playing Dan Fogelberg ~ Same Old Lang Syne

We're hosting family this year I'm sure the lights at Oven Park will be on the itinerary.
