He was also fighting multiple myeloma, And along with his age, (84) his ability to fight off the variant was severely limited.
85% of deaths from the Delta variant were from those over 65 who had a comorbidity.

His wife is 83 and is also vaccinated, but she is recovering.

It was likely diagnosed before COVID based on his age, and especially if blood tests revealed monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance. Thanks. I guess those forms of cancer would be ones like leukemia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma? Not sure what others would fall under the blood cancer category.

No doubt that this was a significant comorbidity.
