Columbus, ga/Eufaula recommendations

Planning a trip for 8-10 high school senior boys for late May/early June and I need some help. I think the whitewater rafting in columbus should be fun. Anyone been to the Infantry musuem? Also thinking about a fishing trip to Lake Eufaula...any advice on charters, etc would be appreciated as well.

And obviously the budget buster....food. Would like a few local spots for lunch and dinner. Thanks

Infantry museum on ft benning is worth the trip if your there. There’s also a memorial for Col Moore (the man who Mel Gibson played in we were soldiers). Could be busy while your there think there’s graduations that take place at the museum every Friday if I’m not mistaken

They have some tanks on display on the road in to the museum. Great place for photos and worth a few minutes.

It's east of Columbus but we used to stop at the Little White House near Mineral Springs for a first taste of the mountains. Well, it seemed like mountains to us flatlanders.

Little Grand Canyon.... basically several big eroded drainage ditches that Georgia turned into a money making tourist attraction.

I taught in Eufaula for years, and I love the people. My suggestion for Columbus and Eufaula is to drive through it on the way to the Ocoee River in Tennessee. You can get great Groupon discounts and it's worth it.

Understand but these will be down in the mid $20s per person . It's the Olympic course in the 90s, and it's a 6hr ride from Bonifay.
