Watching the game last night, the head ref seemed to indicate that Marshall was being ejected because of a blow to the head, (I.e, he used his hand towards the head to indicate such), but the replay clearly showed there was no head contact. Marshall hit him square in the chest, although he did lower his head just before impact and hit him with the crown of his helmet. Is this what targeting is?
Not trying to turn this into a trash the refs thread. We all hate the incompetency of ACC officials. Just trying to figure out what is and is not targeting, because after the replay, I thought there was no way the ejection would be upheld simply because he CLEARLY did not hit Kaaya in the head.
