From snow in the Florida panhandle yesterday to really cold and frosty this morning. My son flew up to Toledo yesterday for work and it's the same 25 degrees here in DeFuniak as it is there. Good thing for us is we will warm up.

That is a big stretch of cold. We are looking at another possible snowfall Tuesdayish, although forecasters in our area totally missed the most recent prediction...1 to 2 inches became 9 to 18. BTW, we had azaleas blooming on Thursday before this last front pushed thru.

Signs of Global Cooling if you ask me.

I'm ready for my pilgrimage back home from North America to Europe via the Bering Land Bridge. A few more chilly days like this one and I'll be back home in time for Christmas.

Send it this way. Stupid "ridiculously resilient ridge" looks to be setting up out west again. No storms in sight.

Dang. My son is living just north of the 101 on Van Nuys Blvd. Those firestorms are unnerving from a distance. It is hard to imagine what 80 mile an hour winds raining sparks on bone dry fuel can do...

The wife and daughter got stuck in Atlanta Friday night after driving from Kentucky for a med school interview. Fortunately they already had a hotel for Friday night. I had to go get them yesterday, though.

Our project manager from work was also stuck there and she wound up driving all night to get back to Tampa.

Meanwhile we are setting record highs in the metro Denver area. Clear and 60's with no snow to speak of. The ski resorts are not happy.

It's nuts. My in-laws live in Ponte Vedra and they're going to see the rest of my wife's family in Northern Minnesota on Thursday where it will be 1 friggin degree on Christmas Day. They, along with my wife, tried to talk me into going up there for Christmas year. Not a chance in hell you get me up there in winter time.

It's going to be in the 70s here all week. I was at least hoping for some chilly weather on Christmas.

The ups and downs is getting silly. 46 and a DENSE fog here with rain forecast and mid-50s tomorrow. Near 80 on Thursday then there's some variance on what's predicted for Christmas weekend... anywhere from 80 and sun to mid-20s and a couple inches of real snow. Odds are, we'll get upper-40s and rain or sleet.

It's been nice a cool here for almost two weeks. Now it will be mid 70s to almost 80 through Christmas at least...
