Death of a Batman

I had read about this guy a while back and for some reason brought him up to my wife last night. I could hardly believe when I read about it earlier today.

Why wouldn't he pull off the road..........not smart to check your engine in the fast lane.

Yeah, even if traffic was such that he couldn't get it off the right hand side of the road when the problem occurred, you can't put yourself in that situation.
I went out to help my wife's friend whose car stalled going up one of the hills on Mahan past Buck Lake. There are curbs now, and nowhere really to pull off the road in that situation. First thing I did was get her to get her damn kids out of the car on the other side of the sidewalk so someone looking at their phone didn't wipe out the whole family while waiting for the tow truck.
Guy's mind was probably on fixing the problem so he didn't disappoint the kids waiting to meet Batman.
Incredibly sad situation.

I drive that part of I-70 all the time. There is virtually no shoulder on the left and the road is usually crowded there (I-70 and I-81 intersect there), especially on a Sunday evening in the summer. Very tragic decision.
