Florida State women’s track and field student-athlete Dajaz DeFrand was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Performer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

DeFrand won the women’s 100-meter, clocking a lifetime best of 10.88 at the LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. Her time ranks first in the ACC and third nationally. DeFrand was also the second leg of the 4x100 relay team that placed fourth with the 10th fastest time in school history at 43.43. She concluded her weekend placing third in the 200 with a lifetime best and fourth-fastest time in school history at 22.58.

"Breakthrough performance for Dajaz,” said associate head coach Matt Kane. “She has been very consistent at her personal best in both the 100 and 200 this season so we felt like a big performance was about to happen. I’m excited for that positive momentum as we head into the postseason.”
