Do NOT like what I saw from Timmons tonight

I'm a Nole through and through. But I was a Steelers fan first. I always saw some similarities in the way we play the game -- especially during the FSU Dynasty 1990s Years, during which the Steelers weren't great, but we were always tough -- a hallmark of the FSU teams in our glory years.

Tonight, I am totally embarrassed to be a Steelers fan. We don't have any pride on defense. Arm tackles galore. And I HATE to say this, but Timmons looks lost, slow, weak. He was supposed to inherit the defense from those who came before. He has been solid and even very, very good from time to time. But what I saw tonight against the Pats was embarrassing. Timmons weakly led a weak defensive unit. It wasn't all his fault, but he did nothing tonight at all -- which is thoroughly discouraging as both an FSU fan and a Steelers fan.

It's weak sauce.

Just being honest. I know nothing about the Jags D. And I would never throw Timmons under the bus just for the sake of it. But he sucked ass tonight and as a leader contributed to the worst Steelers defensive performance I've seen... EVER! All of you FSU defense haters should take a gander at tonight's film between Pats and a team that wears the uniform of the Steelers but looks more like the Strippers opening holes to anyone. (Hope that doesn't get me banned).

I didn't watch the whole game, but while I was watching I did see two NE touchdowns.... didn't see Timmons in position to make plays on those drives, and the players that were could not.

That being said, love LT as he was one of our few bright spots during the "lost years".... still wish he could have returned for his senior year, could have made a huge impact on a defense that sorely needed it.

Exactly the Steelers lost a close game to probably the best team in the NFL. The Patriots ran for 80 yards on the night and the RB only had 15 carries. LT had 3 tackles and a pass deflection. These are excellent passing teams they combined for what 600+ yards through the air?

Jeez...the Pittsburgh secondary was allowing Brady to play pitch and catch...Gronk was about unstoppable...but he also was open.

With a defensive secondary that can't stop the pass...the Pats were just throwing it up and marching down the field.

The Pats had 24 rushes for 80 yards...completed 25 passes for 281 yarfds and 4 touchdowns...Pass defense at Pittsburgh was a shambles.

1st game of season on the road against the Super Bowl champs is difficult for any team. LT has been an Iron man for the Steelers in his 9th season. Has not missed a game in over 5 years which unheard of in today's NFL.

Steelers D and LT will be fine once they get a few games under them.

Inherit the defense?? He's been in the league since 2007, I think whatever he was going to inherit would have happened back in 09.

Guess your referring to other things but it's the Pats, Brady makes many defenses look lost. It's the first game and the first time they have played a whole game so it's tough. I was impressed that Steelers made a comeback. If that idiot WR's doesn't step out of bounds in the endzone we have a game. I'm a Cowboys fan so I was just watching hoping you guys won I can't stand the Pats but it's just one game. It seems like nobody could cover Gronk and the tackling was pretty bad but that's gonna happen in today's NFL when they don't hit in practice or tackle.

Think they will put Jones and Church on Gronk as well as Lee.

Im from pittsburgh, i ws a big time steeler fan before attending FSU. Last night i can honestly say was the FIRST TIME I've ever told people to bet against the steelers. That the defense was the worst I've ever seen in my 30 years of being a fan.....
Some can say it was a defensive coaching problem, but its lack of talent.. Tomlin has continually screwed up defensive drafts and we got old to the point where our studs couldnt play any longer but we had no suitable backups so ppl like Antoine Blake are playing with 1s.... this is squarely on Tomlin.. he in herited a cadillac and turned it into a prius.
