Do you listen to sports/talk radio and if so, who is your go to?

In today's age with apps and internet radio, pretty much any radio show is accessible. Admittedly, I have usually favored the local radio guys in the places I have lived (Lebatard, Joe Rose, Mandich (RIP) in South Florida, Chuck and Chernoff in ATL, JCam when I was in school, and some national guys like Cowherd to get me through my day).

I was curious if there are any shows you like that are worth checking out?

In my 15 years of listening to radio I've yet to find a show as perspective and entertaining as Lebatard and he is a hell of an interviewer. Obviously the ratings spoke volumes and he now has a national radio and TV show that are both very successful.

Who is in local radio now that you listen to that is next?

1310 The Ticket here in Dallas. Local guys that have been there for a long time and don't care to go anywhere else. No national guys trying to get ratings. They mix it up, sports talk and guy talk.

I listen to the Podcast of the Jeff Cameron Show and also Seminole Headlines.

For local (Atlanta) if driving around, I like Steak Shapiro and Brian Finneran on the Front Row. Chuck and Chernoff can be good too (as mentioned above).

I'll check the Rich Eisen Show page for segments. Much nicer to see what took place daily or search segments now than their original show page.

Dan Patrick Show page for Podcasts if there is an interview I am interested in hearing. Can be annoying at times too though with the whining, biases, and lack of interview prep for certain guests (repeat guests often get the same questions as their previous interview).

I did like Daniel Jeremiah's Moving the Sticks Podcast segment earlier this week on Jameis so I'll check it out more often. Good follow on Twitter too.

Also agree on Dan Le Batard show. Good stuff.

During CFB season I'll listen to Championship Drive (college football version) on ESPN.

Lex & Terry for the 15 minutes I drive in the morning.

I'm not a fan of sports radio other than when I'm driving on long road trips and am tired of listening to music.

LeBatard is probably my favorite national show. I do like Rome, but it's been years since I listened to him (he's not on locally and I don't listen to anything on my computer).

Pittsburgh is such a huge sports town that the local shows are really very good.

Oh, I forgot one: I do like the Tim Brando Show too.

Satellite radio is great, get to listen to so many different shows and hosts.

About the only time I listen any more is during football season. I enjoy listening to ian beckles, he does a show on a local tampa station. He played in the nfl for quite awhile, so I value his thoughts on the sport more than the typical journalist who never played.

Except he's paired with Ron Diaz, who has about as much sports knowledge as Bea Arthur. And the combination of the 2 obviously do zero prep work. Once Ian gets on a role about some specifics related to football, he's good. Besides that, that duo is horrendous. As is the rest of 620. It's too bad they're the only sports station in town.

I know they're on the mothership... but SVP and Rusilo are good. I'm surprised no one has mentioned them.

Granted, I live in Orlando without satellite radio so my options aren't that great throughout the day.

Yeah, the station overall is not very good (and Diaz' sports knowledge is limited to 20 years go championship rasslin). But as I said, I generally only listen during football season.

Lebetard is the best. His local hour is awesome. Been listening to him for 10 years that I've been down here. Also like Mike and Mike in the am. Mindless crap in the background. Used to love Hochmann and Zaslo locally here, but Hoch ran for the money.

SVP and Rusillo on Sirius. Jeff Cameron podcast is a daily addiction of mine. Living in JAX sucks for sports talk. All terrible Gator homers. Can't stand Ballou either. Met him in person at the UF game in Gainesville and was very put off by him. He also bows down to the Gator majority at 1010 XL.

The local hour is great and wish the whole show was still that way but I get it. Hoch is good as well but is a clown at times. I'll swap over to his show when Lebatard's on commercial from time to time and it's entertaining.

Ron diaz, man that's a name I haven't heard in a while. He used to be on in orlando on the ron and ron show, but the other ron got da aids and died. it became the ron and fez show after, but it sucked so bad it only lasted on air for a short time.

Diaz's wife died of HIV/AIDS. Both of the Rons are still alive. Bennington and Fez's show is on satellite radio, I believe.

Everything on 620 in Tampa is awful. Ron and Ian's show is putrid. Duemig sucks the most though.

The reason I have XM is because local Tampa radio has always been bad.

Not sure if this is correct......If I recall Diazs' wife got aids and she later died. Diaz left the show to care for her. Ron Bennington was the other Ron and he continued on with Fez for a short while. Could be wrong though.

You are correct. It was the wife, and ron and fez are still on sirius.

As to sports talk, the only ones I'll listen to are Jeff Cameron and SVP and Russillo. I don't listen to the local stations anymore, but Bianchi and Jerry Geene were both tolerable in spurts if they kept it within FL.

Agree, show was so much better when just local, but I think Hoch had something to do with that. I've switched to him a few times, he just can't hold his own show. The 2 a days he and Stugotz did during the title run were one of the funniest things on the radio ever. They literally were losing their minds by the end of it.

Excellent choice very entertaining. I used to let my clock radio play this show while I slept. I would wake up every few minutes to the weirdest stuff and it seems to have more effect when you're half awake. I stopped because I needed to actually get some sleep at night...

Tampa sports radio died with Chris Thomas.

You couldn't pay me to listen to the SEC homers Chuck and Chernoff.

Jeff Cameron is all I need.

I listen to SiriusXM FC whenever I'm not listening to Howard Stern.

No interest in general sports talk radio though.

Used to listen to the PTI podcast but got bored of that one too.

I'm not incredibly big into most sports so IDGAF what the talking heads are saying about most sports. There are only two I listen to, the Championship Drive with Zubin and Maisel during college football season and the Joe Rogan podcasts on MMA.

Some have answered already, but flip the question: who can you NOT listen to? Cowherd is horrible, absolutely unlistenable. He spouts sensationalistic crap, frequently, and really just panders to the unintelligent listeners who tune in and don't question the BS that he delivers.

I love Steve Czaban and I think that he is the most candid radio guy out there.

I will listen to Czab, then Cowherd, then SVP and Russillo and then Boston's Felger and Massorotti.

I guess I am the only one who doesn't like listening to Dan Le Batard. Maybe it's because I never liked him on Around the Horn, but I just think that he's dry.

Two others that I can't stand are Mike Greenberg and Dan Patrick. If they weren't so self absorbed, I think I could tolerate them. I will listen to Mike and Mike from 9-10:00 when Greenberg is not on the air.

I can tolerate, but don't really like Tim Brando and Mike Francesa. I will admit, that after the Yankees blew the 2004 ALCS, Francesa was unbiased and rational about the meltdown when NY CIty was in a meltdown.

Two others that I like that most people don't are Jim Rome and Mike "Mad Dog" Russo.

I am likely in a minority here, but I don't mind the Finebaum show. Mainly I tune in just to marvel at the mouth breathers who call in. They're so bad that I often wonder if the whole thing isn't staged.

meant to add that I listen to the espn podcast with Ivan Maisel. It used to be with Beano Cook. That was a very sad podcast when Beano passed away. Now I think it's called Championship Drive, but I usually only listen when the Noles are about to play (or have just played) a big game.

I listen to the Ticket online while I'm at work. I grew up listening to Norm Hitzges and remember back in the day when he was on KLIF

I used to travel overnight for work and if I could, I'd listen to C2C to keep me entertained. At home I found it was great at helping me sleep by keeping my mind off my day.
