Looking at his preseason and game from Sunday he seems extremely clunky and very heavy on his feet moving around.

Anyone else notice this about jameis?

I think he's got a bad wheel. I know it got rolled up on in one of the preseason games. but he definitely didn't look fluid out there.

Anyone would have bad footwork with a oline like that. I am a huge bucs fan and they need help on oline. I believe Jameis will be fine.

Yes he does. And it didn't just start once he got to Tampa.

It isn't a bad wheel. He had a long delivery and poor footwork at FSU as well. People just don't tend to notice those things as much in college.

He has bad footwork. The feet aren't the problem, though. It's the large amount of side tilt and hip motion that makes the feet look sloppy. The ankle injury didn't help but mechanics were off before that.

His mechanics at FSU were not very good. Hard to change when you're playing baseball, and baseball is the main culprit in those mechanics. That said, it's a long-term advantage because Winston was forced to have tremendous anticipation.

Right now he's stuck between two patterns: the revised George Whitfield motion and his old tactics. When blitzes come (which Tampa obviously can't contain), the old motions come back by default. It will take at least another off-season before you see a meaningful change.
