Dyson Bladeless Tower Fans

I have the tower and a round one. They are fairly silent for the amount of airflow. We tried a few other towers, but they were too loud.

Are those fans suppose to be silent? I would never want a silent fan. In fact for me, the louder the fan the better.

They put off a white noise that gets increasingly louder and higher pitched as you turn up the fan. Some of the other towers practically sounded like standing on an airport runway. On a relative basis it is a more pleasing sound to me.

I won one a few years ago at work, my kids think its cool to stick their hands through it. Other than that, it's just a fan
