Electric Razor

I am seeing some very bad reviews. Have you had it for a while? Any problems with the clean cycle?

Meh, none of the electric razors do a 100% spot on job for me and I have relatively fine hair. No matter if it’s a $200 or a $40 electric razor, I still have to go behind it with an actual razor to clean everything up 100%. I just use the electric to clean off 95% and make it easier to shave with a real razor.

I don't use the clean cycle, ginmickg. I run it under hot water, both with and without the head attached. Not using it hasn't hurt performance, and I don't like the way the cleaner smells anyway.

I've had it for about 3 years. No problems. I don't use the clean cycle that often. It holds a charge pretty well but I don't shave every day. In fact, I take the cleaning solution reservoir out and seal it back up so it doesn't evaporate and put it in a drawer.

Thanks. Gotta say, I didn’t even know a cleaning cycle existed for a razor, just saw them referenced in some reviews.
I have a very old Sterling (got it from my old man’s stuff) that is used for Stach and beard trimming as well as thinning the hedge before using a blade. It doesn’t hold much of a charge nowadays and this thread upped my curiosity about replacement options.
I have a fairly stout whiskers issue and shaving is one of those things that I really do not enjoy, to put it lightly. Like DFS, I have gone with a beard for many years, but tire of that as well.

Braun series 7 clean and shave. Clean it once a week. Never had a problem. Had it for 4 years now. On second one after having it for 7 years because they didn't make the heads anymore.

I tend to not shave for a few days at a time and do t need a super close cut.

Picked up a Phillips One Blade when they came out and love it. I also use it on my head. Blades are like 25 for a two pack and they last a few months each.
