So, I've really grown to enjoy the MI Movies, particularly 3-6, with Fallout being a great action movie.

I don't care for most of the James Bond Movies, but appreciate that many do.

So, being bored today, which spy is better, Ethan or James?

Good topic!
I didn’t place a vote because I view the older a bond movies totally different than the current ones with Daniel Craig in them. The new ones are much more serious however they do try to include some of the cutesy double entendre phrases I imagine in homage to the older bond films.(in those you actually have Bond threatening a female staff that he will “report” them to her superiors if she doesn’t ....you know)

The MI impossible movies and Ethan Hunt are much more modern...I enjoy them...not as dark as the Bourne Identity films with the Jason Bourne character...

A criticism that I read of MI when first came out is that is too much like a Bond film. It was obviously a lot more action packed than the TV show. With this thread, I get the sense MI has more or less taken over the Spy action genre. It is a difficult comparison considering the Bond films began in 62 and had multiple actors play the roll. It will be interesting to see if MI will have continues success without Tom sometime in the future.

Bourne for the win!!! But I'll always love the 007 films with Connery and Craig.

I thought there was a plan for Jeremy Renner to possibly replace Cruise, but his character wasn't well received in the fourth one.
