Ticketmaster has a program to help regular buyers get access to tickets before the bots and scalpers can. You register and if chosen in the lottery, you get sent a code to enter at a preset time. Anyone done this? Is there a pretty good chance we will be able to buy tickets or just another Ticketmaster scam to get my email and data?

This is the Ticketmaster Verified Fan thing?

I tried it for the presale of tickets to the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Broadway show. They had two rounds and I wasn't selected for a code either time. That's the extent of my experience with it.

If you already have a ticketmaster account, I don't remember there being any additional information I had to give up. It's just a way for them to limit ticket buying from scalper-bots. One ticketmaster account - one code, rather than a free for all for everyone buying as "visitors" being allowed to scoop up the tickets.

That's it. My wife got selected. It would be pretty cool to get Hamilton tickets at IPO prices instead the insane resale price.

That was my thinking with signing up to try and get Harry Potter tickets.

I didn't get picked for the presale, but was able to get in on the regular sale and get tickets at retail (was still $200 each x the two parts you need to buy separate tickets for. Still, then entire 1yr run sold out by that afternoon and tickets were immediately for sale on Stubhub for 5x retail.

I take it as your wife got pretty fortunate. Get the tickets and go have fun. For me, Hamilton is coming to the Kennedy Center in DC and the presale for those is on 2/28 - it's only a 3 month run, so I'm hoping for the best...

This is the first I have heard of it. Do you have to sign up for each event or just sign up once and you are entered into the lottery for every event you are interested in?

I think your register for each show that you are interested in that the Verified Fan program is offered.

Ticketmaster Verified Fan® registration begins now and will close Monday, February 19, at 11:59 PM CT. Visit hamiltonhou.tmverifiedfan.com to register.

Those who registered will be notified by Ticketmaster via email on Thursday, February 22 if they have been selected for the Verified Fan on sale. The Ticketmaster Verified Fan® on sale will be available for purchases online only.

Tickets will be available for performances April 24 through May 20, 2018.

There is a maximum purchase limit of four (4) tickets per household for the engagement. Tickets range from $80.50 - $194.50, with a select number of $592.50 premium seats available. There will be a lottery for thirty-two (32) $10 orchestra seats for all performances. Details will be announced closer to the engagement.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the Hobby Center Box Office starting at 11:00 AM CT; patrons may line up beginning at 7:00 AM CT.

I did this for Pearl Jam tickets at Wrigley just last week. Entered both myself and my wife in the Verified Fan presale. I was selected, but she was not.

About 15 minutes before I was able to buy tickets, I got my presale code. When tickets went on sale, you get placed in a waiting room where fans are then randomly selected to move on to purchase tickets. Once you are at that point, if there are still tickets available, you are good to go.

It's a bit nerve wracking sitting there waiting, but I find it a lot less stressful than having to hit refresh every 2 seconds hoping to get in at the right time. At least everyone is in the same boat. I ended up getting two tickets for a very in demand show, so I was quite pleased.

We were able to buy two tickets.
Very nice. I'm already stressed about the Kennedy Center Hamilton presale next week. Since I'm not looking to spend $500+ per ticket, it's the difference between us seeing it or not seeing it. Same with thousands of other people though.

I'm excited. I was surprised that we were able to buy tickets at IPO. It's the touring company and not Broadway, but we were impressed with Wicked when we saw the touring company, so hopefully it will be as well done.

I got Pearl Jam tickets for wrigley last week as well after forgetting to submit for fan club lottery. I ended up with front row a couple sections up on side of stage. Should be pretty good seats.

I did the verified fan presale with Elton John Jacksonville tickets last week. I think I registered a couple weeks before the presale.

Like said above, if selected you get an email the day before the presale. The day of the presale you get a code texted to you.

My code allowed me 4 tickets so I spent the better part of an hour selecting/dropping/selecting/dropping tickets until I had what I wanted. I got 2 floor seats and 2 in the lower level. I got my tickets in 2 separate transactions, since the code allowed 4 tickets I used it each time to access the presale.
