I thought TWD season 4 and 5 were much better compared to 2 and 3. So it seems like the creators learned and adapted.
Other TWD fans, are you looking forward to this?
“Everything that happens in Fear The Walking Dead is in the same universe as The Walking Dead,” says Kirkman. “So any rule that we find out and anything they see in the early days is definitely something that was happening in the past of the other show. These two shows are very intertwined in the same world, even if their characters aren’t necessarily going to interact because of geographical distances. So yeah, anything that you learn from Fear the Walking Dead will apply to the mythology of The Walking Dead and vice versa. So you are going to get to see that the characters learn that they’re all infected in a much different way. But all the rules do apply and are the same. That will be some of the fun if you’re watching both shows.”

So not to start any crap, but won't this be set in LA? We see how Georgians deal with the undead. Who among us is surprised people like that can handle themselves in that world? Now when we talk Hollywood and West LA... Not sure how that's gonna play out.

Few things I've heard - zombies won't be called walkers, which makes sense because the Governor's people called them biters.
It'll be set in the same universe and timeline as the main show.
Probably airing August

Looking forward to this spinoff. They directors and producers learned plenty in the last 5 year. Wish it was starting in July.

Every group has a different name for them. I think walkers is Rick's term. Glenn was calling them "geeks" when they first met IIRC. I think this makes sense, makes it more realistic. People are very isolated in this world, cut off from almost all communication.

Yes and supposedly there are no Zombie movies in the fictional Walking Dead universe, so they don't have our built in familiarity with the zombies.

I've read this is set during the time Rick is in his coma. So it's apparently before the zombie apocalypse and during its early stages.
