After finding three dead dogs in a freezer, two children living among roaches, urine and feces were removed from a Central Florida home. Their mother, 35-year-old Victoria Kanger, was arrested Thursday and charged with child neglect, court records show. According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, officials began investigating Kanger after receiving a tip in October that she had been neglecting her children, ages 5 and 14, both of whom are now in custody of the Department of Children and Families. "It is disgusting, non-livable for a 5-year-old (girl). I mean, there's poop all over the floor, there's piles of clothes, there's roaches. She's had lice for the past eight months," a tipster

The worst thing here is due to this pathetic human her kids are likely never going to meet their potential. Sure they are better off now; but these kids have no shot based on how crappy they grew up and how the government safety net will fail them. One of the things I am most passionate about is mentoring young people. You discover what they want to do and help them succeed. Sadly there are so many useless people in our nation; so kids like this will never have a chance. The solutions are easy; mainly because there are tons of groups that would love to assist; the problem is our government makes it so hard to help people and improve human life, most people give up. That is not to say there aren't a bunch of fly by night actors out there. It is just sad that people do this crap to kids.
