Florida man checks gun's chamber by putting it to his head and pulling trigger

Crazy. Seems like maybe the intelligence pool is now a little deeper than it was before this senseless incident.

Reckon his momma did not talk about consequences??
"Watch this, boys".

sounds like a responsible gun owner. He pointed it at his own head to check if it was loaded instead of someone else's head...or the family pet.

Guess this person didn't learn the 4 rules:

1. All guns are always loaded.
2. Never point the gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
That last one was very important on the west side of Jax a couple of weeks ago. People watching a softball(baseball?) game had to scatter as bullets rained down around them. Turns out some good ol boys had a home made shooting range a few hundred yards away.

Yeah, I saw that in Oak Leaf which is Orange Park technically. Close to the Westside, but Clay County not Duval.

I have a close friend that lives out there and we were both thinking what dumbasses. Glad they found out where it was coming from and stopped it before anyone was hit.

Reminds me of a time a few years ago my good friend of 20+ years and roommate started on his gun kick.
Wants to show me his first gun. Brings it out of his room, walks into the living room, points it at me and dry fires it a couple of times.
Naturally I freaked out and told him he was the biggest idiot ever. This is after he had his concealed carry and safety training as well.
His response: "relax, it's not loaded."
Which I then replied were the famous last words of hundreds of morons who thought the same thing.

Guarantee at least one Keystone Light was consumed prior to this

Not sure I would be friends with that person after that. No need to point a gun at me to show it to me and definitely no need to dry fire it. It isn't a toy.

No joke. It was an extremely frightening second for me there. Thing is, I'm not a fan of guns at all, however my father was career LEO (DEA) and he made sure we knew how to to safely deal with a weapon seeing that we had them in house our entire lives.
Also, my friend thought I initially overreacted which pissed me off even more. Smh.

Hey Tarpon,

Are your parents still living?

My response would be to never be around that idiot again.
