Toafili recovers the onside kick and FSU runs out the clock thanks to a great, game-clinching run by Ward.
Seminoles finish with 383 yards overall and 238 rushing (it was 249 before that team rush at the end of the game). Great win. For a team that really, really needed one. First road dub of Norvell's tenure.
Seminoles now have a week off to get healthy and get ready for UMass.
FSU 35, North Carolina 25 FINAL

An illegal-hands-to-the-face call really gave UNC offense life after FSU had them in what was going to be a third and 30. Tar Heels go down the field and score. But take 11 plays and over five minutes to do it. Imagine they might be onside kicking it here.
FSU 35, North Carolina 25 2:40 4th

FSU picks up one first down and comes within a yard of picking up a second, but Travis was stopped a yard short. Seminoles ran 4:34 off the clock. A line-drive 48 yard punt by Mastromanno was returned 18 yards, so not the net you were looking for there from your punter.
FSU 35, North Carolina 17 8:12 4th

Howell leads the UNC offense down inside the FSU 10. But a couple of big stops on running plays and then the FSU defense forces two incompletions. And the Seminoles get a monumental hold there. Will have the ball deep in its own territory, but still up 18.
FSU 35, North Carolina 17 12:46 4th

Travis leads em right down the field again. This time it was an 83-yard drive. Huge third-down throw to Helton on the sideline. And then he finds Pokey on a 6-yard TD catch wide open in the end zone. If the Noles can get one more stop in this one, that could very well do it. That's a big 'if' though.
FSU 35, North Carolina 17 1:02 3rd

FSU defense forces a punt. Gave up one first down and got a huge break when Brown dropped a crossing route that might have scored because the safety had slipped. Howell scrambles for just three on third down and FSU has the ball back at its own 15. Big drive coming here.
FSU 28, North Carolina 17 5:55 3rd

A great answer by the FSU offense. Travis hits Helton with a 44-yard pass. Another 15-yard penalty on UNC for a late hit. And then Corbin with a run down to the 1. And Travis finishes it off with a QB sneak getting pushed from the guys behind him. 75 yards in less than two minutes.
FSU 28, North Carolina 17 7:43 3rd

FSU defense forces two third downs on the drive, but UNC picks them both up on Howell runs. He then hits Dobbs on a quick screen into FSU territory and then finds Morales on a 21-yard TD pass down the sideline after a fake on the reverse. UNC gashing Seminoles in the running game, and Howell has had the biggest runs for the Tar Heels so far.
FSU 21, North Carolina 17 9:42 3rd

FSU runs it three times. Picks up nine yards. So had to punt it back to UNC. Not the start to the half you were looking for.
FSU 21, North Carolina 10 12:55 3rd

UNC gets into FSU territory, but a holding call pushes em back. They try a Hail Mary to end the half and Travis Jay knocks it away (looked like he tried to catch it, but it fell out of his hands and incomplete). FSU will get the ball to start the second half. FSU with 204 total yards. UNC with 213. Travis has rushed for 87 yards and Howell has run for 58.
FSU 21, North Carolina 10 HALFTIME

Travis leads em on an 8-play, 80-yard drive in a little under 4 minutes. Great throw from Travis to Pokey for a 32-yard TD pass. Set em up with the run the whole drive, and then popped that on them. UNC has three timeouts and 53 seconds is an eternity. But great drive.
FSU 21, North Carolina 10 :53 2nd

UNC puts a nice drive together, mainly on the legs of Sam Howell, but then Jarrian Jones makes a great INT in the end zone on one-on-one ball.
FSU 14, North Carolina 10 4:30 2nd

And the FSU offense goes 65 yards in three plays. Jordan Travis with a 53-yard TD run. Nice shake behind the line of scrimmage. Hit the hole. See ya.
FSU 14, North Carolina 10 8:36 2nd

FSU defense gets a three-and-out. Stopped the run on first down. Then Knowles with a PBU on second down and Robinson with one on third down. FSU offense will take over at its own 35.
North Carolina 10, FSU 7 9:43 2nd

Nice answer by the FSU offense. Travis Jay started it with a 40-yard kick return. Then Corbin picked up a first down on third and nine. Travis hit Helton for a first down on another third down. And then Travis found Malik McClain with a 5-yard diving catch on another third down for the score. Milked over 7 minutes with that drive, too.
North Carolina 10, FSU 7 10:29 2nd

FSU defense forced a third and 12. Howell scrambled for 11. UNC went for it. Lovett jumped offsides on what would have been an incomplete pass. UNC took advantage. Howell scrambled for another first down on third and 6 and then overcame a first and 25 (after a chop block on Cooper) with a 33-yard TD pass in the back of the end zone to Josh Downs.
North Carolina 10, FSU 0 2:40 1st

FSU offense: False start. 0 yard run. Pass batted down at the line. Long pass toward Helton down sideline incomplete. Mastromanno punts. 38 yard punt. No return.
North Carolina 3, FSU 0 9:29 1st

FSU defense gets a third-down stop on its side of the field. Akeem Dent, who came in for an injured Sidney Williams, makes a nice tackle on a scrambling Sam Howell. But UNC still drills a 51-yard FG to give the Tar Heels an early lead.
North Carolina 3, FSU 0 10:27 1st

3:33 p.m. - Captains are taking the field for the coin toss. Plenty of good seats available here at Kenan Stadium. Florida State won the toss. And will defer until the second half. So UNC will go on offense first.

3:04 p.m. - Looks like Chubba Purdy is taking snaps with the second-team offense.

2:58 p.m. - Looks like all WRs on the two deep are accounted for. So are the lineman. Maurice Smith and Robert Scott look to be available. Kalen Deloach is here, too, and looks to be moving around decently.

2:52 p.m. - No Jarrett Jackson either. Who was probably slated to start in place of Briggs. So, D-line is going to be thin and the secondary is going to be thin. Good stuff! Looks like whole O-line is here and all the RBs.

2:50 p.m. -- Brendan Gant, Meiko Dotson and Renardo Green are NOT here today. Akeem Dent is here, and dressed, but he's also been dressed the last two games too and never saw the field.

2:47 p.m. - Travis Jay is working on punt returns. So perhaps he's healthy enough to contribute in special teams. Still waiting on half the team to come out, so can't say with certainty who is out there and who isn't.

2:38 p.m. - The quarterbacks are dressed and going through stretches. The rest of the team appears to be getting ready to come out for warmups now.

2:25 p.m. - The kickers are the first one out of the locker room in full uniform. All are accounted for.

2:05 p.m. - Some FSU players starting to trickle out onto the field. The quarterbacks (all four) came out and loosened up for a few minutes before returning to the locker room.

What's up, folks?
We're live here in Chapel Hill for the FSU-UNC showdown today at 3:30.
We'll be posting personnel updates as we see them from up here in the press box leading up to kickoff.
The team arrived right around 1:45 p.m. and so far nobody out on the field warming up.
Stay tuned!
