First time at this place…any good suggestions or what to expect? Also is there cheaper parking near the hotel?

Morning bump

Most overrated hotel in Miami, in my opinion. Expect to be treated like crap, even though you're paying through the nose for everything while you're there. Scarpetta is a very good restaurant, but all the others are pretty average. I didn't care for Gotham Steak and the sushi place was just ok. On the bright side, the people watching should be top notch.

I can't remember the name right now, but there is a private club/hotel next door that has an amazing restaurant. My wife and I sat next to Peyton Manning there a few years ago.

This is the LR. We do not concern ourselves with trifle things like the cost of parking.

My grandfather was the piano player in the Fontainebleau house band back in the 50s-60s, unfortunately he is dead so he will not be playing during your trip.

This question indicates that you will likely not enjoy your stay there. The $18 per mimosa price tag at brunch came as a surprise, considering the wife (girlfriend at the time) and I were throwing them down like water.

I was at the Eden Roc for 3 nights for a conference last week. I didn't book a room, it is now in their slow season. I knew they wouldn't be full and I knew I'd be able to negotiate better at the front desk. I told them that I had a room booked at the Marriott and that they would have to give me an awesome deal to stay. The conference rate was $269, so they kept the rate the same, but gave me a high floor ocean front suite, free breakfast ($38. per day) and free valet parking ($42 per day).

You just need to negotiate with leverage. If they would have told me to pound sand I would have walked and stayed at the Marriott and collected my points.

That's way I'm trying to find cheaper parking. Use that $135 on booze instead of parking. If I have to suck it up and pay for their parking I will.

Suck it up and pay for parking. It will be cheaper than paying for a broken window when someone smashes it to break into you car.

I had a conference there but didn't star there. The pool area is awesome and, as stated earlier, the people watching is high end. I bet it was an awesome experience to stay there back in the day but now there are so many options that it's lost its luster.

One warning: the breakfast place in FB has terrible coffee and it's $5. Go next door to Eden Roc, they have a Starbucks.

Oh and you're in South Beach. Nothing is reasonable priced, especially parking.

Pretty far north in my opinion. One day for lunch, go to Yardbird. Google it, awesome southern place. Unbelievable Bloody's along with an awesome selection of bourbon. The chicken and waffles will feed 2 easily.
