Before he released the awful record version with his side project the Family, he recorded this much better version with the Revolution.



I still like the Sinead O’Connor cover version better though.

Makes me wish he had embraced the more rocking side of himself after purple rain. Dude was a prodigy and great guitarist that IMHO got lost in R&B sound he moved to.
