Former Gator Matt Elam arrested

"Elam has been one of the most disappointing first-round picks in franchise history. He was benched from the starting lineup in the middle of the 2014 season after struggling to cover receivers deep and missing tackles. Elam played on special teams last season after being designated to return off injured reserve."

Clearly his head is not on it, he is one of the many in the NFL that for not the money would walk fast away from game

Wondering if he's dealt with injuries and now has problem with pain killers. Unfortunately, not uncommon and would explain the on-the-field performance issues. Hoping he gets the help he needs regardless of where he played.

Or that he was committed to FSU at one point. Thankfully Urban had that dream and convinced him to recommmit to Jortstown U.

This by no means should make any of us happy. This young man is still a human being and he seems to have addiction issues that may be in some way related to his torn biceps. I was taught we should wish him the best in turning his life around. To me and my family, this attitude is what makes FSU alums and fans different than those from Gainseville and Miami.

He's in need of some sideline counseling from GR5; that should get him focused.

That's not his Issue. His issue is that he isn't good

Funny that Terrence Brooks was released over him for the final DB Spot last year and it looks like he is going to Start in Philly next season

That gator team has to have the record for players arrested

Usually means large quantity or selling to undercover.

No, selling to undercover is a different charge.

Intent to distribute is quantity and how it is carried (i.e. Multiple baggies will get you intent, while all in one bag is considered personal)

Ripping some guy with obvious substance abuse issues wasn't enough for you this morning. You had to drag one of our beloved Noles through the mud for no reason?

We need less "fans" like you.

Thank you. Someone has some type of life perspective. Sad that so many others don't.

The guy didn't hurt anyone or do anything malicious. He was injured all of last year with a serious injury and may be having issues dealing with the pain.

Easy to criticize if you've never walked in those shoes.

Wasn't a slam on GR5. I love him. It was this I was referring to, but I guess it was too subtle of a reference. Have a nice day.

Ahhhh. Well then, I owe you an apology. I took that as a reference to G5's weed troubles. I guess I shouldn't post before my first cup of morning coffee sinks in.

Sorry about that.

It's cool. I can see how my original post could be misinterpreted.

I have a tendency of getting a little defensive over my boy Greg. Loved that pissed off look he had in that clip you posted of him on the sideline afterwards like "let me back in the game, I'm about to lay someone out".

Ran into him leaving the stadium at the Orange Bowl this year after the Michigan win. He was high fiving all of us on the way down the escalator and even put his arm around us for a picture. He stunk like he still gets down on the weed, but he is Nole through and through.
