What's your preferences/rankings when eating bbq? I guess we need to assume that we're talking about good bbq from good regional places - not like getting brisket from some place in North Carolina. Also, I'm not sure if Pit Beef counts as bbq, so include it if you want to. As for me...

1. Sliced Brisket
2. Ribs- Dry Rubbed
3. Pulled Pork
4. Burnt Ends
5. Smoked Turkey
6. Links/Sausage
7. Ribs-Wet
8. Smoked Chicken

Always the a Texas trinity: brisket, ribs and sausage. Sauce on the sides and a shiner

Speaking of, I might have to go to Killen’s since I’m working from home. He’s been putting out Tex-mex dishes as he prepares to open a Tex-mex restaurant. Brisket tamales are insanely good

1. Pork- Ribs then Pulled
2. Beef- Brisket then ribs
3. Chicken

The only beef bbq i would choose over pork bbq would be brisket and tri-tip over sliced pork. Not a fan of sliced.

Would you change your view if it were man-made meat?

Whats funny is that this is the post that made me ask about the non-animal meat.

It seems people who don't eat meat are significantly more willing to eat the man-made stuff. There are some that say no meat, no way, no of any type.

I guess not. I know Texans think BBQ is all about brisket. Meh...
Well...it is...
Grew up in FL loving pork ribs and pulled pork (Mother was from eastern Carolina) but we also had beef ribs on the grill, so when I moved to Texas and lived there 20 years, the all you can eat beef rib nights at Sonny Bryan's was pure heaven. And brisket is a gift from heaven. :D

I have tried the restaurant briskets in Texas and not much on BBQ chicken either. But the pellet smoker makes some damn good brisket and chicken. The 1 Turkey in an electric smoker last year came out very nice after soaking in brine over night and injecting. It was a hit with the family. I'm looking forward to cooking several in the pellet smoker during the Holidays.

Love Killen’s!!!! His steakhouse too.

The beef ribs and pork belly are outstanding.
